Visitors to my kitchen spot this pan and often ask what I use it to do. My answer: "Name it". Sautee some chopped onions before adding in fresh fish or poultry? Check. Scamble up an omelet with saugage on the side? Not a problem. Mix up a batch of cornbread dough, pour it into this pan then pop in the oven? Don't waste my time!
It's just a terrific can-do pan that does everything I've dreamed up for it to do, cleans easily, and is ready for more. I've even started a few meat dishes in the pan before finishing them in the oven, that is browning on the stove top and slow roasting or baking in the oven to finish up. If you don't have one of these pans in your kitchen, you need to add it to your collection because you'll wonder, as I have, how you got along without it to this point.

I do love Calphalon skillets, and was happy to buy this one on Amazon.
The non-stick surface isn't a teflon-like coating; it's the finish of the metal itself. To me, that means it won't wear off, scratch off, or end up being ingested.
I also like the feel of the handle, and the weight of the pan... heavy enough to heat evenly, but not too heavy to handle easily. I was a little nervous about whether it would be deep enough for omelettes, but it's perfect!
The pan cleans easily; so far I haven't had to scour anything. I think it will last a long time.

this pan is junk made in china. it appeared to be a second rather than a first quality item. i immediately sent it back.

I have been using this for over 2 years and this is one fantastic pan that makes me look like a pro! The size and weight is perfect for omlette and pancakes. The handle stays cool to touch and the nonstick feature makes it a cinch to prepare the food. I would highly recommend this item!
