an excellent value. I didn't want to get non-stick because I don't have a dishwasher, and I'm pretty rough on my dishes when I wash them by hand. that being said, these pots and pans are solid. for anyone who isn't a professional chef, these will do just fine for most cooking purposes. I use them everyday and they have performed beautifully so far. as the manufacturer says, don't use excessively high heat. short of that, they'll take anything you throw at them.

Stainless steel is the way to go for anyone that cooks a lot or a little. It beats everything from teflon to aluminum for ease of cooking and uniform heating. I can't believe I hadn't tried this sooner. Also, for those who are interested in less chemicals in your cooked foods, this is the only way to go - nothing gets transferred from the cooking surface into your cooked foods. Teflon is for those in our society who don't know any better (it's a manmade substance created from toxic chemicals and transfers into the food during cooking) and aluminum in your diet causes alzheimers. If there is a downside, cleanup would be it. You can put this cookware through the dishwasher but I've been much more satisfied with the cleanup if hand washed. To keep the cooking surface of the pot or pan bright and clean, I use around one tablespoon of baking soda, one small squirt of liquid dish soap, and a little warm water. Using a soft sponge just mix it up in the bottom, rub it around for a moment and the surface is back to perfect. It's no exact measurements, just a little of all. If it sounds like too much trouble, my opinion is the exchange for the excellence in cookware is worth it. Also, if you have a ceramic cook-top surface, this is the way to go as the bottoms of the cookware are machined surfaces and completely flat, as well as stainless steel is number one recommended by the manufacturer of our stove.

This pan set was bought as a gift for an avid cook. I haven't had any bad reviews from the recipient so i must assume they are ok.
As far as looks go they looked good on the picture and therefore i bought them.

I was looking for some sturdy, good quality stainless pots and pans, but I couldn't afford the all-clads. I did a lot of research, and I came across this set. I even saw some of the pots on America's Test Kitchen saying that they were their top cheap choice for pots.
I knew that some people complained about discoloration when cooking, well, I found out that most stainless will discolor with normal use. I have indeed had my pots discolor if I do not clean them properly (chore-boy) or if I have cooked something for a really long time in them. In my experience, I learned that if there is anything stuck to the pans, boil water in them and it will take off just about anything. Also, if they do discolor, that will usually go away after I use them again.
As far as the whole eggs stick thing, yes they will. You have to lower your stove temp considerably to cook delicate things as the aluminum core really heats up well. Also, learn how to cook in stainless. That means look it up on the net etc until you are used to them. It takes some time and some burnt food in the meantime until you get the hang of it, especially coming from non-stick. Also, butter isn't the best for keeping food from sticking. Smart balance or pam works the best.
Really, I have been able to cook some great things that I couldn't cook easily with my old set. First of all, these can go into the oven and the dishwasher, two benefits over my old set. Also, I get a much better browning on meats and other foods with this set.
Overall, I really like this set a lot. I would eventually like all-clad, but for less than the cost of a single pan, I got the whole set of Cuisinart. I think it worked out well.

This pot set is beautiful, well-crafted, and functional. I have wanted to switch over to stainless steal and/or aluminum because of the research that has shown teflon cookware leaches dangerous chemicals into food (don't buy non-stick cookware!--see the Environmental Protection Agency's official statement on Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Fluorinated Telomers that are found in non-stick cookware and products at [...]).
I was leery about how much cleaning would be involved in changing from non-stick cookware, but I was extremely surprised and pleased. I cooked rice in one of the pots, which typically leaves tough residue. It took no more time to clean these pots. I made breakfast in one of the skillet and again, clean-up was a breeze. I don't have a dishwasher, so I can't speak about that, but they are dishwasher-safe.
I use wooden spoons and spatulas, but the product information states that minor scratches from using stainless-steal utensils won't harm the integrity of the product.
In all, I highly recommend these pots and pans. They have some great features (great lid-vacuum seal, the ability to go in the oven up to 500F, and FAST heating), they are easy to clean, and they look so wonderful hanging in my kitchen's pot rack!
Highly recommend.
